WCCO’s Mary Mc Guire spoke with a woman over the phone who confirmed she was the one who first encountered Jayme Closs on Thursday afternoon.
Closs approached her and told her that she needed help.
Ferne wore ripped jeans and an oversized denim jacket draped around her shoulders, as her mystery man stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her.
Their relationship seemed to hit the skids by winter though, with Ferne jetting off to Dubai to "clear her head".
Authorities say the suspect carefully planned the crimes, including shaving his head prior to ensure his hair wasn’t left at the scene.
Friday evening, a small Wisconsin town is celebrating the safe return of Jayme Closs.“It’s amazing, the will of that 13-year-old girl to survive and escape,” Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said. 15, 2018, a frantic 911 call led police to the Closs home in Barron.Someone had killed Jayme’s parents — James, 56, and Denise, 46 — and Jayme was gone without a trace.Authorities have recovered a gun consistent with what was used at the scene of the initial homicide that took place at the Closs home, but testing has not confirmed it is the same gun.Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says the gun used in the homicide was a shotgun.
